Tests

If you have injured yourself from exercise, it is important to talk to your doctor about the symptoms you are experiencing. Your doctor may order some tests to see if there is any internal damage and if the damage is to bone, muscle, ligament, tendon, joint or some other bodily system.

Your doctor may order a series of tests to check if you have fractured any bones, suffered a spinal injury, or damaged any blood vessels in your body. Depending on your condition, your doctor may recommend an X-ray, a CT scan, or an MRI (magnetic resonance imaging).

What are the risks and precautions for X-rays? How can you prepare for a CT scan? What can you expect from your MRI test results? Get answers to these questions and more before you go in for your test.

You may think the injury is only minor and your body will heal itself. But some injuries won't heal without treatment and some can actually get worse over time or recur. It is always better to get treatment for your injury and be safe rather than sorry.
